Wow. Just WOW!

Every single county in the state of Missouri voted “Yes” on Prop C, with the exception of Kansas City and St. Louis City. You can’t get any closer to unanimous. Prop C got more votes than the combined voting in both Senate primaries — which tells us something even more about the passion in the electorate.

ORIGINAL POST

Missouri that is.

Missouri Health Care Freedom—-or Proposition C—-was on the Missouri ballot today, which is one of three (I believe) state referendums on Obamacare. A yes vote on Prop C is a “vote to amend current Missouri law to deny the government authority to ‘penalize citizens for refusing to purchase private health insurance or infringe upon the right to offer or accept direct payment for lawful healthcare services.’”

And what was the response to Prop C you might ask? Well, what did the five fingers say to the face? Yeeeeeeesssssssssss!!:

Proposition C

Result Votes Percentage

Yes – 620,384, 72.7%
No – 233,118, 27.3%
Total votes 853,502

(3025 of 3354 precincts in)

Wow. Now that has to sting. One big middle finger to Commiecare. But you want to really know what this means? Mandate. Come November, this is a clear mandate. When presented to the people, the people will tell Obamacare to pound sand. Every. Single. Time.

History was made today when Obama signed the economy crushing health care bill. So historical that The Weather Channel–The fucking Weather Channel–broke into its regularly scheduled, well, weather, to take viewers to the Obama signing of the House health care ceremony. It’s not like viewers had no other options. There had to have been 10 other channels, like fucking news channels, that had live coverage of the ceremony. The one channel you think you could go to get away from this trainwreck, and The Weather Channel breaks from normal programming.

The president had a big day today. Said this was historical and blah, blah, blah. Said he was signing this bill for his mom. Was reeeeeaaal excited about all the free health care we are all going to get. By the way, Inigo Montoya just emailed: Free, You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I think it’s cute when the president tries to explain what our country is or should be, since it’s obvious he doesn’t really understand the character of the people now rejecting him and his agenda.

Heck, even Slow Joe Biden thinks this is a “big fucking deal”. Yeah, you either read or saw that right. On a day where the democrats finally realize their socialist dream and historical historicalness, Slow Joe drops one big F-bomb. Classy.

You know, they said if I voted for John McCain I would get a stupid idiot for Vice President. Well by golly, they were right!

The Democrats have won the day–the battle, but not the war. We will submit our visions for America to the people in the coming elections. Then we will know what path America will select once and for all. Margret Thatcher once said “the problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people’s money”. We need to move forward, stay on message and fight.

Bart Stupak (D, Sellout) announced a few minutes ago that he was voting yes on ObamaCare. Stupak has said for months that he wouldn’t vote for a bill that had federal tax dollars to fund abortion, which this bill has. Now he has reached a deal with the democrat leadership and the White House where the president would sign an executive order ensuring that no federal funding will go to pay for abortion under the health reform plans.

Memo to Stupak, an Executive Order cannot overturn the law. Once the House passes the Senate bill, it proceeds to Obama’s desk for a signature and becomes law. If the law says its X, a contradicting Executive Order saying Y is null and void. The President can not rescind a law at the stroke of a pen, or deny someone (or some organization) federal money to which they are entitled. Even if there is some way to avoid a conflict there, a subsequent law specifically overruling the EO would trump it. And for now, democrats have a majority for that.

So Stupak is either incompetent or a fool You pick. You sold out on an empty promise not worth the paper it is printed on.

Today the democrats achieve their dream of filling in a hole in the goal of Cradle to Grave socialism. From SCHIP to ObamaCare and Medicare, the government will control your health care. And that is just the start baby.

Alexis de Tocqueville said “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”

Once again, I leave you with Chocolate Bunny Death Kill.

It’s a metaphor…just in case incompetent fools like Stupak are reading…

And you want to know who the real winner is in all this if the bill passes? The I.R.S. And to the tune of 16,500. So even more people the government would have to hire to run their exchanges, manage the federal public option, and enforce individual mandates, among other ObamaCare initiatives:

Highlights of report, which is entitled “The Wrong Prescription: Democrats’ Health Overhaul Dangerously Expands IRS Authority,” include:

IRS agents verify if you have “acceptable” health care coverage;

IRS has the authority to fine you up to $2,250 or 2 percent of your income (whichever is greater) for failure to prove that you have purchased “minimum essential coverage;”

IRS can confiscate your tax refund;

IRS audits are likely to increase;

IRS will need up to $10 billion to administer the new health care program this decade;

IRS may need to hire as many as 16,500 additional auditors, agents and other employees to investigate and collect billions in new taxes from Americans; and

Nearly half of all these new individual mandate taxes will be paid by Americans earning less than 300 percent of poverty ($66,150 for a family of four.)

Remember when Obama said this: “No family making less than 250k per year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”

Words, just words.

16,500 IRS agents to get even more involved in our lives is a great idea for reform? Why, what could possibly go wrong? It’s a bureaucratic expansion, the kind of “jobs bill” that will further burden the American people.

Today was a pretty good day for the democrats and the Obamacare morons. It appears quite a few “undecideds” are heading to the “yes” column. It has shifted big time. It looks like Bart Stupak and his bloc are selling out for a signature on a piece of paper that means absolutely nothing. I sort of feel like the frog in the fable The Frog and The Scorpion. I mean a democrat is always a democrat in the end. No ethics or integrity. But when you want something so bad, sometimes you just can’t see the forest through the trees.

This leads me to an excellent article in the Washington Compost by Robert Samuelson. He’s not an economist, but he is a straight thinker and he does a good job describing Obama’s backyard of unicorns and skittle trees when it comes to healthcare and cost control:

One job of presidents is to educate Americans about crucial national problems. On health care, Barack Obama has failed. Almost everything you think you know about health care is probably wrong or, at least, half wrong. Great simplicities and distortions have been peddled in the name of achieving “universal health coverage.” The miseducation has worsened as the debate approaches its climax……

How often, for example, have you heard the emergency-room argument? The uninsured, it’s said, use emergency rooms for primary care. That’s expensive and ineffective. Once they’re insured, they’ll have regular doctors. Care will improve; costs will decline. Everyone wins. Great argument. Unfortunately, it’s untrue.

A study by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation found that the insured accounted for 83 percent of emergency-room visits, reflecting their share of the population. After Massachusetts adopted universal insurance, emergency-room use remained higher than the national average, an Urban Institute study found. More than two-fifths of visits represented non-emergencies. Of those, a majority of adult respondents to a survey said it was “more convenient” to go to the emergency room or they couldn’t “get [a doctor's] appointment as soon as needed.” If universal coverage makes appointments harder to get, emergency-room use may increase……

And then this nugget of potpourri:

Unless we change the fee-for-service system, costs will remain hard to control because providers are paid more for doing more. Obama might have attempted that by proposing health-care vouchers (limited amounts to be spent on insurance), which would force a restructuring of delivery systems to compete on quality and cost. Doctors, hospitals and drug companies would have to reorganize care. Obama refrained from that fight and instead cast insurance companies as the villains.

He’s telling people what they want to hear, not what they need to know. Whatever their sins, insurers are mainly intermediaries; they pass along the costs of the delivery system. In 2009, the largest 14 insurers had profits of roughly $9 billion; that approached 0.4 percent of total health spending of $2.472 trillion. This hardly explains high health costs. What people need to know is that Obama’s plan evades health care’s major problems and would worsen the budget outlook.

0.4% of the total healthcare spending people! 0.4%. Less than one percent. Why are we doing this people? Why are we turning our entire healthcare system upside down when the gains will be zero and the costs will be enormous? Because Obama says so? Because Stretch Pelosi chooses to violate a fundamental aspect of the constitution? To what end? In the past week and a half or so Obama has been going around lying through his teeth saying that if we don’t pass this cancer, the government will be deeper in debt, millions will lose their coverage, yada yada yada, rising costs, blah blah blah and small businesses will drop coverage altogether.

For one thing because of Obamacare’s requirements, any business—-in particular small business—-in order to survive and compete, will dump their health care coverage, particularly for the low, unskilled worker on you and me. Us. The taxpayer. How the hell does this save costs? The one thing Obama doesn’t do is cut or contain costs. And he knows it, yet he still lies about it.

Obama attempts to call out the opponents of this monstrocity by minimizing our “government takeover of healthcare” claim. As if we are out in left field on this. If the government dictates price controls, rationing, what policies you keep, what policies you don’t, what will be taxed and how much……if the government can send you to prison for not having a set policy and refuse to pay the tax penalty on it, if that’s not government takeover or control, what is? What. Is??

The middle class will be paying the freight for this system, starting at incomes at the very bottom of that class. The only middle-class taxpayers who will see any benefit at all are ironically those who get thrown out of their existing health-care plans by businesses hoping to dump costs. Democrats will push millions of more Americans into coverage that pays inadequate compensation for the costs involved. It will act like a timebomb on the health-care system, driving up the demand-supply ratio and either prices or rationing along with it. It’s like the worst of all worlds.

You have a 3000 page document filled with the word shall. You shall do this, you shall do that, you shall not do this, you shall not do that. He’s setting up dozens of panels and committees loaded with phony experts and bureaucratic hacks telling you what drugs to take or what procedures you can have, or when you can have them. Who. What. When. Where. How is this not government control? What else could it be?

Obama and his minions demonize Sarah Palin and others about references to death panels. The president’s own medical advisor, Ezekial Emanual, has discussed this very issue. They have talked about models where a point system is given depending on age, health, disabilities, etc, etc. How is that not government control? Every nation that has socialized government healthcare, has caps on what they spend per person. In the UK it is roughly 40k per person. If that isn’t a death panel, what are they? A life panel? Quality of life panels?

Nothing good comes from this bill except more taxes, more control and less competition.

Oh, and then you have this:

This is such an important bill that it has to be done now. Right now. Yet it does nothing for at least four years. No improvement in health care coverage for four years after this piece of crap passes. And what will happen for four years?

Taxes. And lots of them.

Last August I had a post on the death of Ted Kennedy along with his efforts to subvert Massachusetts law. When Kennedy died, the law required the state to hold a special election to fill the opening he left in the US Senate. That law was put in place by the state legislature in 2004 when John Kerry ran for President, and it was a law Ted Kennedy whole heartedly backed. Why might you ask? Well, the governor at the time was Mitt Romney — and Kennedy didn’t want some Republican appointing an interim replacement that wasn’t a democrat.

So we move forward five years, when Kennedy was on his death bed. The Kennedy family released a letter written by the Senator demanding that the law he championed in 2004 get repealed in 2009 in order to allow Governor Deval Patrick to appoint his successor. Again, why might you ask? You see Patrick is a democrat and a reliable little liberal who will stand in line and do what he is told. And of course the state legislature responded by acceding to Kennedy’s dying wish. Patrick appointed Paul Kirk to fill the seat temporarily, until the special election could be held.

I don’t know what is sweeter, the irony or the karma of being a douchebag.

These shenanigans were played so that Obama and the democrats could get their 60 votes needed to cram government healthcare down our throats. And what did this get them? A walking buzzsaw in Scott Brown, whose main message was to be the 41st vote against Obamacare in the senate.

Scott Brown absolutely waxed Marsha..err..Melissa..err..Martha whatever the hell her name is, Coakley, winning by 5 points in the bluest of blue states, and becoming the first Republican senator in Massachusetts in 38 years. And he did it with a platform of lower taxes, reduced spending, less government, tax money for defense from terrorists, not for the defense of terrorists, and most importantly, he opposed Obamacare.

Almost a year to the day Barack Obama was sworn in and as he completes his first year in office, Massachusetts voters let him know they reject this runaway congress and his hard left policies. Brown was able to tap into the anger in Massachusetts in a way that appealed not only to independents but conservatives as well. If you listened to that speech last night there was plenty of nods to the center, but there was also a lot for hard core conservatives to agree with. It’s a powerful combination and one that, with the right candidates, can be duplicated in just about any state.

“I’m Scott Brown,

“I’m from Wrentham,

“I drive a truck, and I am nobody’s senator but yours”

Classic. The message of last night’s election is impossible to spin.

While most of us slept last night, Harry Reid and the Senate democrats robbed us in the middle of the night. At roughly midnight Central time, a vote was taken on the ReidCare Managers Amendment. It passed 60-40 right down party lines. They own it now.

Yes America, under the democrats this is how laws get made now: written in secret, voted 0n in the seedy dark shadows of the night.

Last night was the first of three procedural votes the democrats need to pass in order to destroy America’s healthcare system.

With the passage of the Managers Amendment, the democrats must wait 30 hours for the next vote (roughly until 7am Tuesday) , which will be an up-or-down vote on the Manager’s Amendment. 50 votes required.

There will then be a cloture vote on the Reid Substitute, requiring 60 votes. Then democrats must wait 30 more hours for an up-or-down vote on the Reid Substitute. Only 50 votes required.

Finally, there will be a cloture vote on the final bill, ReidCare. 60 votes required. Then democrats must wait 30 more hours for the final up-or-down vote on ReidCare. Again, only 50 votes required.

So if everything goes to plan it should take place Christmas Eve. Neat.

Merry Fucking Christmas. Oh I’m sorry, Happy fucking holidays.

With the 60 votes required for a cloture vote, no wonder Reid wanted to end debate on the bill. He doesn’t want the public knowing what exactly is in the the bill. Especially the under 200k middle class, where over 68 million will have to pay a whole lot more:

Here’s the quantitative summary for the Reid bill. All figures are for the year 2019, and in each case these are net results of premium changes, tax subsidies, and tax increases.

17.8 million individuals, families, and single parents with incomes under $200K will be net financial winners (11% of all tax returns under $200K):

[Of] that 17.8 million total, 13.2 million of them will benefit from the government subsidy for health insurance, net of any premium increases.

The other 4.6 million of them will also benefit, netting out their premium reduction with the higher taxes they will pay. These people in general will not get a health insurance subsidy.

68.4 million individuals, families, and single parents with incomes under $200K will be net financial losers (41% of all tax returns under $200K):

In general these people are not eligible for premium subsidies, so the effects of he Reid bill on them are direct premium effects and/or tax increases.

Within this group, here are some representative averages, taking into account premium changes, tax subsidies for premium purchase, and tax increases:

Within this population of 68.4 million net losers, an average individual working for a small business who gets health insurance through the small group market will be worse off, even if his income is below $10K per year:

Income of 0 – $10K: He pays $31 more (per year).

Income of $10K – $20K: He pays $99 more.

Income of $20K – $30K: He pays $202 more.

Income of $30K – $40K: He pays $325 more.

Income of $40K – $50K: He pays $377 more.

Income of $50K – $75K: He pays $576 more.

Income of $75K – $100K: He pays $681 more.

Income of $100K – $200K: He pays $726 more.

If this individual works for a large employer buying insurance in the large group market, the bill helps him if his income is <$20K, and hurts him if his income is >$20K:

Income of 0 – $10K: He pays $135 less.

Income of $10K – $20K: He pays $67 less.

Income of $20K – $30K: He pays $36 more.

Income of $30K – $40K: He pays $159 more.

Income of $40K – $50K: He pays $211 more.

Income of $50K – $75K: He pays $410 more.

Income of $75K – $100K: He pays $515 more.

Income of $100K – $200K: He pays $561 more.

For an average family among the 68.4 million losers getting insurance through the small group market (including most small business employees), they are on average better off if their family income is <$20K, and worse off if their income is >$20K. If they get insurance through a large employer, the breakpoint is $30K.

For an average single parent among the 68.4 million losers, he or she will be better off if income is <$20K, and worse off if income is >$20K, whether he or she gets insurance in the small group or large group markets.

Basically, the middle class will be carrying this directly on their shoulders. And it starts with incomes at the very bottom of that class.

Remember when someone said: “No family making less than 250k per year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”

Words, just words.

And folks, this is just scratching the surface. Here’s a comprehensive rundown on additional taxes and penalties (taxes) imposed in the Reid-Obama version of the health bill:

Excise Tax on Comprehensive Health Insurance Plans (Page 1979/Sec. 9001/$149.1 bil/Jan 2011): Starting in 2013, new 40 percent excise tax on “Cadillac” health insurance plans ($8500 single/$23,000 family). Higher threshold ($9850 single/$26,000 family) for early retirees and high-risk professions. CPI +1 percentage point indexed. Longshoremen have been exempted (page 362 of the manager’s amendment)

From 2013-2015, the 17 highest-cost states are 120% of this level.

Employer Reporting of Insurance on W-2 (Page 1996/Sec. 9002/Min$/Jan 2011): Preamble to taxing health benefits on individual tax returns.

Plenty more a the link. Plus, Michelle Malkin has an excellent piece on the democratic bribe machine.

Ben Nelson: Just the tip, ok Harry?
Harry Reid: Ok, Benny. You tell me when it is too far.
Harry Reid: Sweetie?
Harry Reid: It’s all the way in, do you want me to stop?
Ben Nelson: ………

Ben Nelson succombed to his inner whore and has given Harry Reid the votes he needs for cloture on the senate heath bill. Every man has his price. And Harry Reid found Ben Nelson’s with some heavy petting, his love of the shaft and a few million dollars in federal funds. This reminds me of the old joke often attributed to Winston Churchill:

Churchill: Madam, would you sleep with me for five million dollars?
Socialite: My goodness, Mr. Churchill… Well, I suppose… we would have to discuss terms, of course…
Churchill: Would you sleep with me for five dollars?
Socialite: Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?!
Churchill: Madam, we’ve already established that. Now we are haggling about the price.

This is what American democracy has come to, bribing voters with tax money in order to get them to pay more in taxes and give up freedom. And really, we can’t be too shocked by this. He is a democrat after all.

Oh, and what about that abortion stance he was so magnanimous about? Meh, abortion schmortion.

So with that, Ben Nelson has allowed Harry Reid to brutally ass rape this country with an economy–nay, soul–crushing healthcare bill. Leaving us Americans huddled in a fetal position sticky, broke and confused.

Quite possibly one of the more surreal videos you will ever see. The way they are sitting in those “S” shaped chairs is just freaking weird.

Shatner: “How……do you……know???
Rush: Dammit Jim, I’m the number one rated political talk show host, not a doctor!!!

Heh.

But seriously. How do we know, Bill? Are you kidding?

Obamacare is a clear example of how there are winners and losers here. If you’ve got insurance, you’re a loser. Congratulations, you will now basically have a complete stranger’s health care added to your premiums as if he’s a member of your family, because you can afford it.

If you don’t have insurance, you may be a winner… sort of. On the one hand you come out ahead — free money! Woo hoo! – but on the other, the health care overall is driven to a lower quality. So Mr. and Mrs. I-Ain’t-American get the same shitty care as I do because it waters down the product.

This is and always will be about one thing. A direct transfer of wealth, and the services that wealth buys, from the middle class to the lower class. And that is plenty of reason for the uninsured and poor to support this plan.

Like I said before Bill, with the millions you have made over the years, why don’t you buy some of the uninsured a quality plan that pays their medical bills for a year? Maybe even convincing a few of your friends to do the same:
