Memorial Day
Posted by TheJOTUS on May 31, 2010
A stark reminder that freedom is not free. To quote George S. Patton “It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.”
I have two videos for you today. The first is a tribute to those who have fallen defending our country. The second is the great Ray Charles singing America the Beautiful.
Indeed it is.

Two Politicians With One Common Message: Telling It Like It Is
Posted by TheJOTUS on May 18, 2010
Perhaps the greastest political ad evvaaaaaahhh. At first I thought it was one of those Funny or Die type gags. It’s not. Money line: “Who would support such a dummy?” Classic.
This guy should set his sights a bit higher than Alabama Agriculture Commission:
Just plain freakin’ awesome. A politician with balls. And he calls everybody out right out of the gate. This guy is definitely not focus grouped, blow dried, and pampered. His request to give him the position is less of a request and more of a demand. I love it.
And then you have New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Basically calling a reporter a whiney little pansy. This guy is not messing around. And what’s amazing is that he told everyone from day one that he wasn’t messing around. So in this clip he basically says it again “I’m not messing around. I’m here to lead as the state’s governor.”
Pure red meat folks:

Cinco de Mayo? Or Cinco de Mayhem?
Posted by TheJOTUS on May 8, 2010
Apparently on Cinco de Mayo some students were sent home because they offended some mexican-American students by wearing the American Flag depicted on their shirts and shorts. You have got to be kidding me:
On any other day at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, Daniel Galli and his four friends would not even be noticed for wearing T-shirts with the American flag. But Cinco de Mayo is not any typical day especially on a campus with a large Mexican American student population.
Galli says he and his friends were sitting at a table during brunch break when the vice principal asked two of the boys to remove American flag bandannas that they wearing on their heads and for the others to turn their American flag T-shirts inside out. When they refused, the boys were ordered to go to the principal’s office.
“They said we could wear it on any other day,” Daniel Galli said, “but today is sensitive to Mexican-Americans because it’s supposed to be their holiday so we were not allowed to wear it today.”
The boys said the administrators called their T-shirts “incendiary” that would lead to fights on campus.
…”I think they should apologize cause it is a Mexican Heritage Day,” Annicia Nunez, a Live Oak High student, said. “We don’t deserve to be get disrespected like that. We wouldn’t do that on Fourth of July.”
Ok, I think we can all agree Annicia is hawt. But with that aside, really Annicia? Really? Apologize? This isn’t mexico. This is America, where the American flag is 24/7/365. And the price in blood paid for that flag is a hell of a lot higher than your petty feelings of being “disrespected”. So how about this apology? Fuck. Off.
To compare the Corona beer party to the 4th of July is absurd. The 4th of July is our day of independence you jackasses. The American flag stands above all other flags. The Israeli flag, the Italian flag the Irish flag and yes, the mexican flag! Not to mention Cinco de Mayo isn’t even a real holiday——in mexico! Or that they won the battle, but lost the war and were occupied by France, France!!, until the U. S. pressured them back to their own hemisphere. So instead of bitching about a few kids wearing their own flag, how about you pay attention in class and put yourself some f-ing knowledge.
And what’s worse than the comments from these mexican kids is the Principal and Vice Principal. The American flag is provocative and incendiary? In a public school, funded by the American tax payer? That flag that is soooo incendiary gives you the freedom to open your pie hole and speak such garbage. Dick bags. These two clowns should be fired if not for their comments, but at the very least for being stupid idiots. But they won’t because up and down that school district is one ignorant liberal after another.
So now our flag is controversial. While other people are celebrating their (supposed) holiday, we can’t have people walking around with the American flag on their person. Nooooo, can’t have that can we? Yet if I walked in with a murderous douchbag che guevara t-shirt, why that would be considered edgy. And notice how tolerance only goes one way. One way. White christian males? Piss on them. The American flag? Piss on it. But upset the beer cart on Cinco de Mayo and it’s outrageous outrage.
Folks, this is a clear example of the deterioration of what our society is. In particular the culture. And especially our history. People who come to this country must accept and respect the American way. They don’t have to forget where they came from and their past cultures, they can celebrate them. And should embrace them. We have Columbus day, St. Patrick’s day, etc., etc. We get that and it is completely fine. Be proud of your heritage. Pass it on to your kids and grandkids. But you are first and foremost an American. This is an American society. Not a mexican and everything else society.
What this Principal and Vice Principal should have done is addressed these kids and the community and said look, you can represent your culture. But these kids can represent theirs as well. People in this country embrace ethnic pride. As they should. It is the rejection of America where we draw the line.

Dennis Miller – Out Of The Closet?
Posted by TheJOTUS on May 7, 2010
And by out of the closet I mean as a conservative, of course. Newsmax has an interview with him, and although a short one, he gives some interesting answers.
I always thought Dennis leaned somewhat to the right. Even his days doing Weekend Update on SNL the jokes seemed to take it a little easier on the conservatives. And let’s face it, unfortunately we are easy to make fun of. Norm McDonald’s Bob Dole still cracks me up.
And his show on HBO, well, it was a complete 180 compared to what that troll Bill Mahr puts out. Below are a couple questions and answers towards the end of the interview:
NEWSMAX: So how do you classify yourself politically?
MILLER: I’m a Republican conservative. I am an objectivist. I do believe Ayn Rand rings true. I am not the more strident type, so I can’t go all the way with it. But I do believe in accountability in the universe.
NEWSMAX: So you’re a Republican conservative, small “l” libertarian. Would that be correct?
MILLER: I hear libertarian thrown around a lot. I am registered as a Republican. As far as defense of the country and fiscal stuff, I’m conservative. And I’m socially liberal.
NEWSMAX: Are you a tea partyer?
MILLER: Yes, I would go in a second. I like the tea party people; I admire them. Yes, you can put me down for that. I like the fact that it stays small. Those big marches peter out the next day. I like the fact the tea party happens in people’s drawing rooms.
NEWSMAX: You’ve denied it before, but your name often comes up as a potential public servant.
MILLER: You know what? As much as I would love to get at a podium opposite Barbara Boxer, and believe me, I have dreams about that, I am just not cut out for it. It’s the glacial aspect of it. It moves so slowly. I would get kicked out. I would just step up to the mic when they gave me my two minutes and say, “This is bull****.” We have got to make sure that these kids come back from war and they never pay another tax. Forget giving $60 million to ACORN; give it to the troops. I would just be so off the reservation that they’d probably kick me out.
I’m with Miller on the whole “libertarian” thing. Even libertarians don’t know what “libertarian” means. I once heard a definition that “libertarians are conservatives who smoke weed”, and that seems as apt as anything. There’s a lot of overlap, however.
Like I said: even libertarians can’t agree among themselves on what “libertarianism” means. It seems to be a catch-all term for a laissez-faire, market-oriented, small-government, socially liberal culture. But it’s not really a political philosophy (or even an economic one, as far as that goes). Objectivism promotes a libertarian style of economics, but again, “objectivists” often can’t even describe the culture they claim to believe in.
To paraphrase Dennis Miller: I don’t mean to get off on a rant here…
