Well, Black Friday ascended upon us this weekend.  Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving where millions of cheap people flood thousands of stores to save a few dollars on their Christmas shopping.  My wife was part of the madness as she got up at 4 in the morning to take advantage of these alleged super sales.  I think she saved a whopping $40.  Wow.

Isn’t the value of your time, sanity and even personal safety worth more than the supposed savings you would receive? 

She said the line inside Kohls was wrapped completely around the store.  At Wal-Mart, she said the parking lot was completely full and people were parking in the street and filling other business lots.  Are you kidding me?  She said there was frustration, irritation and profanity.  Ahh, the Christmas spirit…

Things were a tad bit worse for a Wal-Mart in Long Island, NY, where a maintenance man was killed as cheap shoppers trampled him entering the store for their early morning specials:

“He was bum-rushed by 200 people,” said Jimmy Overby, 43, a co-worker. “They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too…I literally had to fight people off my back.”

The unidentified victim was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:03 a.m., police said.

Exactly what kind of “deals” would it take for people to trample a guy to death?

Items on sale at the Valley Stream Wal-Mart included a Samsung 50-inch Plasma HDTV for $798, a Bissel Compact Upright Vacuum for $28, a Samsung 10.2 megapixel digital camera for $69 and DVDs such as “The Incredible Hulk” for $9.

Perhaps Wal-Mart underestimated how far cheap people will go to save a few dollars.  Merry Christmas everybody.

Kansas Celebrates Another Season Of Mediocrity

At the beginning of the year Vegas had set the over/under on the Kansas Gayhawks season at 7 wins.  So, back in August I took the under and predicted the Gayhawks would win 6 games.  Well, I fell short of my prediction by one game.

UK beat Mizzou 40-37 today at Arrowhead giving them their 7th win of the season.  UK’s 4′ 9″ midget, Todd Reesing, threw the go ahead touchdown with 27 seconds left to seal the victory.  I would say congratulations, but they are hardly in order.

First, coming off a 12 win season last year only to back it up with a whopping 7 wins this year is quite the underachievement.  Actually, it just goes to show how fraudulent UK’s program is.  And the sham that last season was.  Last year they had one of the easiest schedules for a program in a major conference.  They didn’t play Texas, Oklahoma or Texas Tech. 

But oh did they play them this year.  Well, they took the field with them at least.  Because those three teams absolutely whose your freakin daddy’d them 143-59.  Mack Brown, Bob Stoops and Mike Leach all put their wife beaters on and proceeded to pimp slap Margerinegino and his merry bunch of merries.  Ouch.  I don’t think there is enough balm or lotion to soothe the burning from the chaffing on that rear end.

So, once again, UK does not play for their division or conference title.  They finish third behind MU and Nebraska.  They have finished 3rd or worse in six of Margerinegino’s seven seasons.  Nice job Kansas!

The Intelligence Of The Constituency

John Ziegler interviews Obama voters-on Election Day-to see what their knowledge of various issues that came up during the election.  Let’s just say the results, at least to us conservatives, are not surprising.  Ziegler’s website, How Obama Got Elected, along with a report from Zogby shows an enormous amount of ignorance (to be polite) in the vote:

A few of the numbers you might fascinating:  The poll surveyed over 500 Obama voters and has an margin of error of 4.4%.  55% have a college degree and over 90% having a high-school diploma.  It asked 12 multiple-choice questions; only 2.4% got at least 11 correct. Only .5% got all them correct.  Astounding……

  • 57.4 could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
  • 81.8 could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
  • 82.6 could NOT correctly say that Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
  • 88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
  • 56.1 % could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).And yet…..
  • Only 13.7% failed to identify Palin as the person their party spent $150,000 in clothes on
  • Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
  • And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!

Obviously, anybody can find knuckleheads for a “man on the street” type interviews.  Leno does it as well as Hannity on his radio show.  But this is from a sample of 500.  500.  Not 5.  Five hundred!!

This is a direct result of how much the media was in the tank for Barack Obama, which most-at least we conservatives-already knew.  This is blatantly obvious in the video, as they associate every stupid thing said on the campaign trail to Palin, whether she said it or not.  It’s not that the voters couldn’t absorb the information provided to them by the media; they obviously learned plenty about Sarah Palin.  But at the same time, the same media provided nothing about Obama, his campaign or his history.

If you wait until the end, you find out what media outlets these people get their news from.  Which actually explains quite a bit.

A Last Second Gift For That Special Someone

Having trouble finding that one last gift for that certain liberal someone?  Perhaps a brother or sister or even a significant other that you just can’t find something they’ll like?  Well fear not my friends, Planned Parenthood has exactly what you are looking for!

“People are making really tough decisions about putting gas in their car and food on their table, so we know that many women especially put healthcare at the bottom of their list to do,” said Chrystal Struben-Hall, Vice President of Planned Parenthood of Indiana.

The certificates come in $25 increments. They can be used for everything from birth control to $58 examinations that include breast exams and pap tests. Men who receive healthcare at Planned Parenthood can use them too.

“They can be seen for sexually transmitted disease screenings, HIV tests and general prostate exams and those kinds of things,” said Struben-Hall.

Some Hoosiers 24-Hour News 8 talked to asked if the gift certificates could be used towards abortions. The answer is yes. But, Planned Parenthood said that’s not the purpose of the gift certificates.

Struben-Hall said, “They really are intended for preventative healthcare. We decided not to put restrictions on the gift certificates so it’s for whatever people feel they need the services for most.”

 Just think of the exuberation on their face when they open this little nugget of joy!  So hurry, and get yours now!  Rumor has it, next year the new deal will be:  3 abortions and the 4th is free!!

My question is:  Exactly what type of relationship would you have to have to give one of these out?  Me thinks a rather disturbed one.

Palin The Impaler

Another Palin video making the rounds on the internet.  When I first saw it, I damn near passed out laughing.  As my friend zulubuff said, this is straight out of an SNL skit.  Except SNL couldn’t write something this funny.  Nobody could.

What makes me laugh the hardest is the knucklehead in the background continually looking back at the camera, as if he can’t believe Palin and crew set up shop right there.  Then going off camera only to come back in frame essentially dragging another turkey to its doom.  Good stuff:

It always makes me laugh when people decry the slaughter of animals for food as some barbaric practice.  As if we haven’t been doing this since we came out of the swamp.   Where exactly, do people think meat, turkey in this instance, comes from??  Magic?  Is there some X350 extratransponder in Mom’s kitchen that miraculously produces a turkey?  Gimme a break.

Although, it didn’t stop this colossal tool bag from spending 6 plus minutes on this.  This jack stain has serious issues, but then again what did you expect from the network that employs this knob gobbler

The New York Times even jumped into the drama and referred to the executions being done in the background.

Please.  Executions?

Bottom line is that Gov. Palin knew where she was.  True, there should have been an aid near by to direct the interview away from the “executions”……ahem.  But in my opinion, who cares?  I don’t think Palin gives a rats ass if any of these turkeys makes it another day.  And I think that is awesome.

The Gipper

Ahhh, the great one.  I recently heard this on the Mark Levin Show late last week on my drive home from work.  I sat in my driveway for the last 15 minutes or so of this speech.  It deeply moved me and shocked me at the same time by the stark contrast to then and now.

One thing is for sure, liberalism now and liberalism 44 years ago sums up to the same total:  Failure. 

Since the election, Conservatives and “republican” pundits have been asking what does the party need to do to redefine itself?  How do we get back on track?  Ummmm……how about watching this speech for starters.

There will never be another Ronald Reagan.  But there will be another individual with the same conviction, principle and moral direction he had.  The direction of the security of our country, economic and energy independence, fiscal responsibility and the American dream.

I highly suggest taking the 27 minutes to watch this.  It is well worth half your lunch hour.  Here are a couple of quotes I found quite significant:

No nation in history has ever survived a tax burden that reached a third of its national income.

Let’s set the record straight. There is no argument over the choice between peace and war, but there is only one guaranteed way you can have peace–and you can have it in the next second–surrender.

We are at war with the most dangerous enemy that has ever faced mankind in his long climb from the swamp to the stars, and it has been said if we lose that war, and in doing so lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening.

…And Senator Clark of Pennsylvania, another articulate spokesman, defines liberalism as “meeting the material needs of the masses through the full power of centralized government.”……

But beyond that, “the full power of centralized government”–this was the very thing the Founding Fathers sought to minimize. They knew that governments don’t control things. A government can’t control the economy without controlling people. And they know when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. They also knew, those Founding Fathers, that outside of its legitimate functions, government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector of the economy.

…the trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, but that they know so much that isn’t so.

No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this Earth.

Good Morning America will have terrorist William Ayers on at 7am tomorrow (Friday) morning.  It is so refreshing that the main stream media is taking the initiative and doing some vetting of B. Hussein Obama’s influential people in his life……after the election.  Nice job GMA!!

One thing we do know is that Obama was lying–not misleading, not fibbing, not “oh shucks” that Bill Ayers–but lying, l-y-i-n-g, when he said at the debate William Ayers was “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”  Bill the terrorist confirms otherwise:

“We had served together on the board of a foundation, knew one another as neighbors and family friends, held an initial fund-raiser at my house, where I’d made a small donation to his earliest political campaign,” he writes.

But right-wing commentators tried to use those connections to smear Obama, he says.

“Obama’s political rivals and enemies apparently saw an opportunity to deepen a dishonest narrative about him, that he is somehow un-American, alien, linked to radical ideas, a closet terrorist, a sympathizer with extremism,” Ayers wrote.

So this knucklehead, Ayers not Obama, will be on GMA to pimp the reissue of his 7 year old memoir, “Fugitive Days.”  Perhaps it wasn’t doing so well.

I do have one question for Obama:  Exactly how big of a piece of shit does a friend, or his actions, have to be to lose “family friend” status?  Just curious……

A History Lesson For Obama

As I was doing some research for a future entry on W’s record, I came across this site.  From it, I got this nifty little chart that illustrates the marginal income tax rate increases during the Great Depression:

Barry consistently pledged during his campaign that he wanted to copy the policies of Herbert Hoover and FDR, which actually lengthened the depression.  It still stuns me that, with Obama receiving his alleged “higher education,” he fails to grasp that this is a terrible idea.

History shows lower tax rates not only generated more tax revenue in total but a much higher percentage were paid by those in the highest tax brackets.  Look at the historical record.  Less government, more freedom, more economic prosperity for all.

McCain Campaign Sends Out Dominick & Guido

The proverbial kneecapping has begun.  Fox News, specifically Shep Smith and Carl Cameron, are now reporting some “anonymous” McCain aides say Palin didn’t know that Africa was a continent and that she allegedly thought it was a country.  Naturally, these “anonymous” aides are never questioned about these clearly absurd claims.  And I am guessing it never occurred to Cameron or Smith to do so. 

These same aides also claim that she couldn’t name the nations in NAFTA.  For those in Rio Linda that is the North American Free Trade Agreement.  I’ll give you a hint:  There are three.  And I guarantee you she knew them.

What’s next?  She can’t read?

I wonder if she knows how many states there are?  Or what country liberated Auschwitz?  Or how to spell?

It sounds to me like there is some bitterness and finger pointing amongst the McCain ranks.  Obviously it is much easier to blame Palin than to focus on their candidates own short comings.  But even if true, and a big if, who is the bigger numbskull?  Palin or the ”anonymous” McCain aides and staff for not properly vetting her?

As I am posting this, Cameron is on O’Reilly quoting more “anonymous” aides:  Staffers were sent for Palin and she would answer her hotel room door in her towel.  She refused interview prep help with Gibson and Couric.  She was a “shopaholic” even when she was provided clothes by the campaign.  Apparently a week before the election she was “cracking”, throwing tantrums, screaming and yelling at people.

I want names Carl.  McCain might not be personally responsible, but somebody needs to be held accountable with these allegations and be met with consequences.

RedState is already ahead of the curve.
