Yesterday a man commited suicide by jumping to his death off of El Paso’s Spaghetti Bowl interchange. Apparently he left a note for Obama in his car, which was parked a short distance from the launch site. Police confirmed the note read “Obama take care of my family.”
About 7:45 a.m., police responded to a report that the 52-year-old El Paso man had jumped off the uppermost ramp of the Spaghetti Bowl. His body was found on I-10 west just before the Copia Street exit. His name was not released.
Police confirmed that the man left behind a note that read, “Obama take care of my family.”
How touching. Apparently this douche bag didn’t stop to think that it was his responsibility to take care of his family. Instead, he couldn’t handle the grueling pressures of life so he pulled a Peter Pan and jumped 60 feet to his death. Coward.
The silver lining of this story is that it is definitely one less vote for Obama, which is a good thing. Plus, not only was this loser not thinking of his family and friends, he was also not thinking of Obama. Depending on when the funeral takes place, it makes it difficult for the people paying their respects to go out and vote on Tuesday. Possibly costing Obama votes. Although it’s Texas, which probably isn’t going for Obama anyway, but still. This guy really was a selfish bastard.
On a side note in the story, I am guessing the question was asked why the city doesn’t put fencing along this part of the interchange. Apparently another coward jumped to his death early last year:
Texas Transportation Department spokeswoman Blanca Del Valle said there were no plans to install fencing along any of the Spaghetti Bowl ramps because the ramps weren’t meant to accommodate pedestrians.
“There’s funding issues involved, and it may mean replacing what we have now,” Del Valle said. “There are tubes in the barriers along the ramps, and studies would have to be done to determine if the tubes could hold the fencing.”
You know, there is an extreme amount of planning when drawing up a massive interchange. I am betting “what happens when a selfish, cowardly bastard jumps to his death” scenario never came up in the brain storming meetings.
