Today starts the college football season.  It actually started Thursday, but today is when the meat of the season starts.  And I am excited.  I love College football, even more than the pro level.  It is just so much more passionate and exciting. 

As many of the thousands of readers of my blog know, I am not a believer of Kansas football.  Basically anything about the University of Kansas (why isn’t it UK?) I pretty much despise.  They are cheaters.  Actually well documented in cheating.  A little review shall we?

The NCAA said Kansas demonstrated a failure to exert appropriate institutional control, which was shown by a failure to create and maintain and atmosphere of compliance, a failure to report rules violations in a timely manner, a failure to provide rules education, and a failure to monitor activities of student athletes who lived on campus. It was also shown that the coaching staff helped commit academic fraud.

And you can add Sweet Lew’s little stint with the Orange Bowl committee last year.  A bowl they never deserved to go to.  But I am off topic.  It’s a new season, right??

This year, UK…err…KU starts off with another stellar non-con schedule.  Admittedly, most teams from the top conferences play some sort of cupcake schedule.  However, the better ones play at least one–if not two–quality teams.  Not UK…err…KU.  Their big hitter is South Florida. 

Vegas has set the over/under for UK…errr…KU’s season at 7.  Even Vegas knows Margerine-gino and their season last year was a fluke.

Watching baby huey huffing and puffing and wheezing down the sideline trying to follow up a miracle 2007 will be fun.  There isn’t enough Gatorade in the world to soak up the multiple, mucous encrusted roles in his neck to help him with this one.  Tons-o-fun is one onion ring away from his head exploding all over that ridiculous, fictitional bird.

With Texas and Oklahoma on their schedule, an improved Colorado and a supurb Miissouri team, I am taking the under.  Let the games begin.
