NEW UPDATE – B. Hussein Responds To The Maverick’s Veep

Classtastic:

“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency.” — Obama spokesman Bill Burton

When did this guy release this statement???  Before 2006 when she won an election over an incumbant Governor 80-20? 

Barry has nothing, similar to what his entire campaign is based on.

 

UPDATE – Barry Flips On McCain’s VP Pick

It seems after some careful thought and even further reflection, The Hopenchange Express decided to change gears:

“We send our congratulations to Gov. Sarah Palin and her family on her designation as the Republican nominee for vice president,” said the Democratic ticket in a joint statement. “It is yet another encouraging sign that old barriers are falling in our politics.  While we obviously have differences over how best to lead this country forward, Gov. Palin is an admirable person and will add a compelling new voice to this campaign.”

Gaffetastic…

At the end of the article, Jake Tapper notes that McCain had a similar negative response by using Biden’s own words to attack Obama.  Perhaps.  I mean he did use Biden’s own words, but the negative part is debatable.  However, it was Barry who has been running on Hope and Change and a “new” style in Washington.  Then the self-proclaimed smarty pants selects a guy who has been a staple of stale politics for 36 years.  Genious.

 

UPDATE – Barry Blames His Staff

Barry is getting good at driving the bus.  The Reverand Wright, Tony Rezko and now……his staff: 

“When asked about his campaign’s attack on Palin, attributed to top spokesman Bill Burton, at a Friday afternoon media availability at a Pennsylvania biodiesel plant, Obama referred to a statement he and running mate Joe Biden had since issued that hardly touched on policy issues and called Palin “an admirable person and … a compelling new voice.”

Obama disavowed his campaign’s first response, telling journalists that “I think that, uh, you know, campaigns start getting these, uh, hair triggers and, uh, the statement that Joe and I put out reflects our sentiments,” he said.”

 Apparently they are not the staff he once knew…

Game On

Today starts the college football season.  It actually started Thursday, but today is when the meat of the season starts.  And I am excited.  I love College football, even more than the pro level.  It is just so much more passionate and exciting. 

As many of the thousands of readers of my blog know, I am not a believer of Kansas football.  Basically anything about the University of Kansas (why isn’t it UK?) I pretty much despise.  They are cheaters.  Actually well documented in cheating.  A little review shall we?

The NCAA said Kansas demonstrated a failure to exert appropriate institutional control, which was shown by a failure to create and maintain and atmosphere of compliance, a failure to report rules violations in a timely manner, a failure to provide rules education, and a failure to monitor activities of student athletes who lived on campus. It was also shown that the coaching staff helped commit academic fraud.

And you can add Sweet Lew’s little stint with the Orange Bowl committee last year.  A bowl they never deserved to go to.  But I am off topic.  It’s a new season, right??

This year, UK…err…KU starts off with another stellar non-con schedule.  Admittedly, most teams from the top conferences play some sort of cupcake schedule.  However, the better ones play at least one–if not two–quality teams.  Not UK…err…KU.  Their big hitter is South Florida. 

Vegas has set the over/under for UK…errr…KU’s season at 7.  Even Vegas knows Margerine-gino and their season last year was a fluke.

Watching baby huey huffing and puffing and wheezing down the sideline trying to follow up a miracle 2007 will be fun.  There isn’t enough Gatorade in the world to soak up the multiple, mucous encrusted roles in his neck to help him with this one.  Tons-o-fun is one onion ring away from his head exploding all over that ridiculous, fictitional bird.

With Texas and Oklahoma on their schedule, an improved Colorado and a supurb Miissouri team, I am taking the under.  Let the games begin.

The Veep

As I am sure you know by now, Senator McCain selected his Vice President today with Gov. Sarah Palin.  I am going to reserve comment for another time until I get a little more aquainted with her.  I mean who the hell follows Alaskan politics??

But one thing is for sure, the Senator sure can pick them.  We all know his wife is hot, but whoooooooo weeeeeeeee, Sarah is scrumdeeeeliocious!!!!

I know, right??  But seriously, this ADDS to her likability.  I mean smart, assertive and attractive??  Both barrels John Boy, both barrels…

A little insight on her:

1. Sarah Louise Palin (nee Heath) was born Feb., 1964, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Her family moved to Alaska when Sarah was an infant. Her father, Chuck, is a retired schoolteacher.

2. She attended Wasilla High School where she played point guard on the state champion basketball team. Her nickname was “Sarah Barracuda.”

3. Palin graduated in 1987 from the University of Idaho with a degree in journalism. She worked briefly as a sports reporter in Anchorage.

4. She refers to her husband, Todd, as the “First Dude.” He’s worked as a commercial fisherman and as a production operator on the North Slope for BP. He enjoys snowmobiling and has won the Tesoro Iron Dog, billed as the world’s longest snowmobile race, four times.

5. Palin and her husband have five children, Bristol, Piper, Track, Willow, and Trig. Trig, born in 2008, has been diagnosed with Down syndrome. Her son Track joined the army in 2007.

6. Her favorite meal is moose stew.

7. She comes from a family of outdoor enthusiasts. Her parents, Chuck and Sally Heath, enjoy hunting and fishing, and have both completed marathons.

8. Palin was named Miss Wasilla in 1984 and was a runner-up for Miss Alaska. In 1996 she was elected mayor of Wasilla.

9. She’s a lifetime NRA member and enjoys hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.

10. Elected in 2006, she’s Alaska’s first female governor and the youngest governor elected in the state.

I Heart Bush

I’ll admit, I have been watching Kerri Walsh and Misty May for quite some time now.  What can I say, I am a guy, I watch women’s beach volley ball.  Plus, there is something sexy about these two and I don’t care what anybody says.  Steffi Graf is hot too, but that is off topic……..

I watched every game throughout their olympic run.  They never lost a set.  For lack of a better phrase, they were awesome.  Dominating.  But what made them even more appealing–at least to me–was of what appeared to be their fondness of W.  Granted, I have had my issues with the President but I still think he is a genuine guy.  There is nothing false or phony about him, he truly believes in what he is doing.  Apparently they saw it too.

I think we all remember this photo awhile back of the Prez having some fun with our olympic duo:

Bush knuckled off a couple of lobs, but defending gold medalists Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh gave the chief executive some pointers. Then after a good play, in the tradition of female volleyballers, May-Treanor turned, bent over slightly and offered her bikinied rear-end for the 43rd president to slap.

“Mr. President,” she said, “want to?”

Bush knows nearly every camera for a half-mile was right on him, so he wisely chose instead to brush his hand across the small of May-Treanor’s back.  Me?  I would have put a welt on that thing.  Then again, I am not the Prez.

But when they smoked the Chinese drama queens for their back-to-back gold medal, who did they make a definitive point to thank besides their families?  And I mean a definitive point.  It was obvious how much Kerri wanted this to get out to the viewing public, and for those stayting up late, it got out.  They thanked our President for his inspiration and for all he’s doing.

I watched this live.  And I remember thinking there is no way this clip–at least this part of the clip–would be shown on the Today Show.  And guess what?  It wasn’t.  Shocking.

This made up for the badmitton, trampoline and race walking…

Folks, I actually watched about five minutes of this crap.  I know, I know, about 4 minutes and 52 seconds too long.  But I gave it a chance.  However, after watching these people…ahem…”race walk” it reminded me of how you look when you are trying to hit the head after holding it for 8 hours……gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now…

Olympic Update – 8/20/08

Debbie Phelps has been her son’s (that is Michael Phelps for those in Rio Linda) biggest fan in Beijing, but we haven’t seen Michael’s father.  Well TheJotus has uncovered who his father really is:

Ha, ha, just kidding.  But this guy did. 

Please remind me why this is relevant?  Is there a section of the American public that has to know where this guy’s father is?  Can you introduce me to the tool bag sitting on his couch saying “yo honey, where is Michael’s father?” 

Apparently MIchael has had to deal with this issue since he was nine.  And until August 20, 2008 about 99% of the public has had no idea.  I am sure our 2008 Beijing olympics, 8 gold medal winner will enjoy his suppressed wound being ripped wide open.

Poll Update – A Dead Heat

It strikes me as quite telling how even with all of Obama’s media hype and love fest, he still doesn’t gain ground.

The LA Times/Bloomberg poll  of registered voters has Obama at 45% and McCain at 43% – a statistical dead heat.  And as I said, this is amazing since Obama led by 12 points in June.

Participants in the LA Times/Bloomberg poll site McCain’s experience and patriotism. They question Obama’s patriotism and 17% say the country is not ready for a black President.  

Far more voters say McCain has the right experience to be president, the poll found. More than a third have questions about Obama’s patriotism.

Most voters say they know at least some people who feel uneasy about electing a black president; 17% say the country is not ready to do so.

It will be interesting when Obamessiah and his merry band of merries take center stage at the DNC convention.  No doubt we are all about to see unprecedented biased media coverage here in the next week.

The Obvious Observation

I have come across a few observations on the differences between the liberal and conservative:

• Liberals are more self-centered than conservatives.
• Conservatives are more generous and charitable than liberals.
• Liberals are more envious and less hardworking than conservatives.
• Conservatives value truth more than liberals, and are less prone to cheating and lying.
• Liberals are more angry than conservatives.
• Conservatives are actually more knowledgeable than liberals.
• Liberals are more dissatisfied and unhappy than conservatives.

 But hey, don’t take my word for it.  Take Peter Schweizer’s exact words in his new book Makers and Takers.  And Pete has dug deep—through tax documents, scholarly data, primary opinion research surveys, private records and more.  

But seriously.  Conservatives such as Ronald Reagan have long argued that liberal policies promote social decay.  He kept a plaque on his Oval Office desk that read: “There is no limit to what a man can do, if he doesn’t care who gets the credit.”  Indeed Mr. Reagan, indeed.  

In this day and age the current liberal is not John F. Kennedy or Franklin D. Roosevelt.  It is Peter Pan, the mythical character who avoids responsibility, refuses to grow up, and is terribly self-absorbed.  The failure lies in modern liberal ideas, which harbor a self-centered “if it feels good do it” attitude that leads liberals to outsource their responsibilities to the government and focus instead on themselves.
