Missed field goals are part of the game and can’t be assumed points. It falls in the category of “woulda, coulda, shoulda.” By that rational, MU went for it on 4 down DEEP in KU territory in the first quarter and failed to pick it up. If MU had kicked a field goal, the beat down would have been worse.

In addition, even if KU made those field goals do you think MU would have played the same way? No, they wouldn’t have. And they most certainly wouldn’t have been so conservative in the 4th quarter.
